WELCOME to the Highland Middle School website!!  Our goal is to keep families updated on all the latest events taking place at HMS.   Through a school-wide culture of collaboration and high expectations, the mission of Highland Middle School is to create learning experiences that increase student achievement and prepare students for high school.

eLearn Make up days

Monday, February 18, 2019 (President’s Day) will be an eLearning Make-up Day for January 31, 2019.  Students and staff will not report that day. Teachers must be available by email from 9 a.m. to noon to answer student and parent questions.  Students will be expected to complete eLearning assignments that day but will have until Friday, February 22 to complete and turn in. Grades 3-5 students can take Chromebooks home on Friday, February 15, 2019.  Grade 3-12 teachers must have eLearning assignments uploaded and published to Canvas by 10 a.m. Friday, February 15, 2019 (this includes all applicable Special Area and SPED teachers). K-2 teachers will need to have packets ready to send home by Friday, February 15.  Teachers are encouraged to contact district eCoaches for assistance in with eLearning activities. As always the ACS tech helpdesk will be open at ACStechhelpdesk@acsc.net to answer technical questions. Students and parents will be directed to email teachers regarding questions about content.



Saturday, March 9, 2019, will be the eLearning make-up day for Friday, February 1, 2019.   Students and staff will not report that day. Teachers must be available by email 9 a.m.-noon to answer student and parent questions.  Teachers who are coaching activities will need to make administrators aware if they will not be available by email. Students will be expected to complete eLearning assignments that day but will have until Friday, March 15, 2019, to complete and turn in.  Grades 3-5 students can take Chromebooks home on Friday, March 8, 2019. Grade 3-12 teachers must have eLearning assignments uploaded and published to Canvas by 10 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2019 (this includes all applicable Special Area and SPED teachers). Please remind your students that they should not contact Canvas support directly. Canvas personnel cannot speak directly to students through email as part of FERPA confidentiality. Their questions about Canvas content should be directed to the teacher, and technical issues (can’t log in, etc.) directed to ACStechhelpdesk@acsc.net.
